What is Value Max Specialty?

The Value Max Specialty program is designed for benefit plans that use Magellan Rx as their exclusive specialty provider and have members who take high-cost specialty medications. We identify the most common and costly drugs for which there is generous, non-needs-based copay assistance available, and connect members with these programs.

How does Value Max Specialty work?

Comprehensive drug list

Our comprehensive drug list includes medications that typically account for 95% of specialty claims costs.

Copay assistance program

Member cost share is raised to maximize manufacturer copay assistance. The increased member responsibility is paid by the copay assistance program and the plan receives the savings.

Member assistance dollars

Our program helps to identify member assistance dollars paid by the drug manufacturer and excludes them from the member’s deductible and out-of-pocket maximum.

Home delivery

Members can also take advantage of home delivery by Magellan Rx Pharmacy. We make it easy for members to quickly get their specialty medications while providing additional support to help them stay on track.
